"Halloween! You know how Halloween is often an excuse for girls to dress up as a sexy _____? Like, Sexy nurse, sexy devil, sexy black cat? Well, this year I think I will go out as a sexy orphan. Hey, handsome. Have you seen my mom?"

AAAAAhahaha.

I'm getting really bored with writing about everyday life. So, here's a crash course in the life of Abby:

•I moved back to Portland
•I got an apartment (and its pretty. You all should come visit.)
•And a free, awesome bike. It's a Schwinn Varsity! If you don't know what that is, go ask your parents which bike they wanted most in high school. Then picture it BRIGHT YELLOW. That would be my bike.
•The creepy guy from common grounds who looked in my shower just got arrested for almost raping some girl. Eughhh.
•HALLOWEEN IS SOOOOO SOON! What are YOUUU going to be?

wooooooah.

I havent written in a long long time.

Anywho. I'm back from New Orleans. I went to build houses in the lower ninth ward, and it was... intense. It made me so sad to leave, since I feel like I've done so little for a city that needs so much. The people are just continually being screwed over by the city, and being patrolled by the military police. It's a place of complete devastation, but somewhere the community finds hope. It's really intense.

::sigh.::

pictures coming soon.

California, heart of gold. Live it up, let the good times roll.

I'm driving back from california with Emily and Punkin. We're in Arizona right now, which is super hot but also fun. I don't have a lot of time to write right now, since we're staying in a super 8 and have plans to smoke the weed that her crazy neighbor gave us, and watch Cannibal the Musical (which I havent seen, but is apparently hilarious.)

I'll definitely write more in a few days, and include pictures.

Wheee!

Also, is it normal to be sort of worried when someone sends you a message of distress and then doesnt text you back, and when you call her phone it makes the disconnected noise? :(

This is awesome.

• I just bought a ticket to go to California to see Emily. We're going to hang out in LA (and ive never been to LA so even if it's a bad place, it'll still be kind of fun and new.) Then I'm going to help her pack up and then drive back to colorado with her, all of her stuff, and her puppy dog. :)

•I also sent in my application for Common Grounds. (commongroundsrelief.org) It may be kind of hippie-rific, but hopefully people won't smell like patchouli and incense. Basically it's an organization that rebuilds the lower 9th ward in New Orleans, since it's still overlooked by the media and government even though it's been so long and everything else is rebuilt. I have a friend who went there through this organization, and she said it was really hard but also really fun. It'll be good to get outside the dramatic Boulder bubble for a while and help people who need it. Plus, building and reparing shit is my new favorite thing to do.

On that note, does anyone want to come with me? I kind of don't want to go by myself, but I really really want to go...

•And i emailed a bunch of people about housing in Portland. Hopefully I'll be able to get a house or apartment without actually being in Portland...ugh. It'll be hard, but okay? Maybe? Hopefully?.... I dont know.

Hooray for distractions.
